Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine used to reduce targeted muscle activity, aiming to soften movement-related lines while maintaining natural expression. Commonly referred to as ‘Botox’ but this is just one brand of toxin that is available.

Suitability

Suitability is assessed in consultation, including medical history, facial movement, and expectations. It is not suitable for patients with neuromuscular disorders, and there may be other reasons why it is or isn’t appropriate for you.

Risks and Side Effects

Possible effects include temporary bruising, reaction site irritation, bleeding, headache, asymmetry, eyelid or brow heaviness, and rare complications. These are discussed before any treatment.

Aftercare and review

Clear aftercare is provided both written and verbal.

Reviews are offered at 2 weeks as standard, and the price of this and any top ups is included in the treatment price. After 2 weeks any further reviews will require a new consultation.
