My Approach

I’m Dr Roz Hallewell — a GP and medical educator with the University of Exeter Medical School. I provide facial aesthetics with a focus on clinical standards, informed consent, and long-term skin health. My approach is calm and conservative. Many clients come to me because they want to look like themselves — just a little fresher — and they value a considered, medical-led plan.

What you can expect

Consultation First

All treatment begins with a consultation. This allows us to understand what you’re hoping to achieve, assess your face and skin in context, and discuss options, limitations, risks, and expected longevity. Some clients choose consultation only, which is always fine.

Conservative, natural-looking results

I prioritise subtle change, staged plans rather than “doing everything at once”, and a proportionate approach to dosing and product choice. The aim is a natural result that still looks like you.

Safety and Aftercare are part of the service

Good aesthetics includes what happens after treatment. You can expect clear written aftercare, an agreed review process where appropriate, and advice on what is normal vs what needs prompt assessment.

Treatments I Focus on

My work typically centres on:

  • Anti-wrinkle treatments (aimed at softening movement-related lines while preserving expression)
  • Dermal filler (used conservatively for proportion and support, not overfilling)
  • Skin boosters / skin quality treatments (hydration, texture, crepiness, “tired skin”)
  • Skin care consultations (to maximise your at-home skin care regime)

Who I’m best suited for

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Prefer a medical, consultation-led approach
  • Want natural-looking results and a staged plan
  • Are happy to discuss risks and limitations openly
  • Want treatment decisions made carefully, not quickly

When I may not be the right clinic for you

I may not be the best fit if you:

  • Are looking for the cheapest option
  • Want dramatic, trend-led, or “influencer” outcomes
  • Want treatment without a proper consultation
  • Feel pressured to treat urgently “before an event” without adequate planning

This isn’t judgement — it’s about ensuring the clinic is safe and the outcome is right for you.

Ethics and Consent

Facial aesthetics should be collaborative, not pressured. You can expect clear information before you decide, time to think things through, and a plan that reflects your face, your goals, and your risk tolerance.

I practise in line with professional standards expected of doctors registered with the General Medical Council.

Booking

If you’d like you book a consultation:

  • You don’t need to know exactly what you want yet
  • You can come simply to discuss options and receive a plan
  • There is no expectation to proceed with treatment

FAQ 1: Do you offer same-day treatment?
Not usually for first-time clients. Consultation-first supports good decisions and appropriate consent.

FAQ 2: Will you tell me if you think I shouldn’t have treatment?
Yes. If I think treatment isn’t appropriate or won’t help, I’ll explain clearly and suggest alternatives.

FAQ 3: Do you do “top-ups”?
If a review suggests adjustment is clinically appropriate, we can discuss it. I don’t routinely add product without reassessment.
